How often should I visit the dentist?

The American Dental Association recommends that all patients see the dentist at least twice a year. During these bi-annual visits, Dentists can examine your teeth and gums, and our hygienist can remove built-up plaque from between teeth and below the gumline. Visiting the dentist at least twice a year is essential to preventing major dental issues, like gum disease, from arising. Because gum disease has very minor, if any, visible symptoms, early detection and treatment are vital to your long-term oral health. The Dentists and our team will partner with you to determine the frequency of follow-up visits, according to your unique situation.

Is flossing really important?

Yes! As the saying goes, you don’t need to floss all your teeth – just the ones you want to keep! Flossing is the only way (aside from a trip to the dentist) to remove food and plaque from between the teeth and around the gumline. Left to fester, food particles will release toxins that eat away enamel and gum tissue, leading to cavities and worse yet, gum disease. Daily flossing is so important, we demonstrate proper methods to all our patients. In addition to keeping your mouth clean and your breath fresh, flossing can actually add six years to your life!
